Dear Family, So sorry for your loss. I have been thinking so much about my Uncle Lou and what he meant to me. He was my hero. So strong, so smart, and so very funny.. I loved him very much as a kid but even more as we both aged. He reminded me a lot of my dad. My husband and I spent many wonderful times with Lou and Miriam when they came to California. We will treasure all the memories. When I was younger, Uncle Lou gave me 3 silver dollars. I have kept them in my wallet for luck ever since. They mean even more to me now. They represent the all love and great times I had with my uncle. He will be greatly missed. Love, Renee{niece and Donhusband

Baruch Dayan HaEmet... As a camper and counsellor at Forest Valley Day Camp I remember Lou very well. He was active, friendly and always with a big smile who cared about everyone he came into contact with. Quite a number of years ago I happened to bump into him again...his big smile could light up a room. What a wonderful man-a great loss for the community and of course the family. May the good memories continue to bring you comfort and strength. HaMakom Yenachem Etchem B''Toch Shar Avlay Zion v''Yerushalayim-May you be comforted amongst the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

We will miss Lou very much and treasure the last several years we were able to spend time together when he and Miriam visited Palm Springs, I also appreciated Lou''s time and effort in making The Glait Family Video with me, telling stories about the Glait family from their arrival from Poland to the early 50''s. I was a student of his at Harbord in the late 50’searly 60’s. As a member of Holy Blossom, we often talked during the High Holy Days reminiscing about Harbord. His “throat microphone” was never an impediment to carry on the conversation. Quite an achieve. My his memory for a blessing. Ron Smith

After finally emerging from the Covid lockdown on Sunday, I drove up to see Miriam and Lou. As always when I arrived, he blew me a kiss and his eyes sparkled a greeting. Even without words Lou was unfailingly warm and eager to connect. I arrived home after that visit to learn that he had passed. What a blessing to have spent those precious moments on Sunday in his presence. He will be missed... and his memory kept alive in all of us.

I first met Lou 16 years ago and on his many visits to Nova Scotia he tried to teach me how to play cribbage...not that I really caught on. But his humor and storytelling during those visits will always be remembered. My deepest sympathy to Julia, Carrie, and Susan.

Mr. Glait was my Grade 9 Phys Ed teacher in 1960 at Harbord. He also taught an experimental sex education class to a Grade 10 boys class watching WW II films that made both the teacher and students uncomfortable it ended in failure. Mr. Glait was friendly and always had time to say hello in the halls. Thank you Mr. Glait.
