Stanley was born in Ottawa and graduated as a physician in 1957 from the University of Toronto. He was Chief of the Department of Family Practice at The Doctors Hospital in Toronto from 1964-1970. Stanley was respected and admired by his many patients over his 60 years of practice, and he often tended to three generations of family.. He was a diligent physician who practiced the art of medicine and focused on each person holistically. He integrated genuine caring for all his patients for both their physical and mental well being. Stanley was known by all his family and friends as a kind, gentle and decent man. He made everyone feel special and ensured their comfort was a priority in his presence. He excelled in tennis, getting along peacefully with others and managing his own health. Although he struggled with progressive dementia over the past several years, he maintained a positive disposition and continued to be a lifelong learner. < < Bert, as he was often tenderly called by his late wife Miriam z"l was the loving father and father-in-law of Marc and Louna, Glenn and Judy and Janie and Danny Fedder.
