Notice:
VENIS, Stanley Bertram -
July 13, 1933 - January 12, 2021
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the
death of Stanley Bertram Venis on January 12,
2021 at the age of 87. Stanley was born in
Ottawa and graduated as a physician in 1957
from the University of Toronto. He was Chief
of the Department of Family Practice at The
Doctors Hospital in Toronto from 1964-1970.
Stanley was respected and admired by his many
patients over his 60 years of practice, and he
often tended to three generations of family..
He was a diligent physician who practiced the
art of medicine and focused on each
person holistically. He integrated genuine
caring for all his patients for both their
physical and mental well being.
Stanley was known by all his family and friends
as a kind, gentle and decent man. He made
everyone feel special and ensured their comfort
was a priority in his presence. He excelled
in tennis, getting along peacefully with
others and managing his own health. Although
he struggled with progressive dementia
over the past several years, he maintained a
positive disposition and continued to be a
lifelong learner. <

Bert, as he was often tenderly called by his
late wife Miriam z"l was the loving

z"l, Estelle z"l and Martin z"l. Zayde Bert as
he was often referred to, adored and cared
deeply for his 9 grandchildren Alex, Eric, Dan,
