Dan Lawrence died on July 23, 2020, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer which he fought unremittingly until his death. On Friday July 31, 2020, Dan was buried at Pardes Chaim in accordance with his wishes as expressed to his longtime friend and companion Rita Arteaga. The private graveside ceremony, while limited in attendance by Covid and a Tropical Storm in Puerto Rico which prevented his beloved friend Rita and her family from attending in person, was a quiet and meaningful celebration of Dan's heritage and life as an immigrant to Canada. The longstanding friendship, love and respect that Dan had engendered in the lives of those in attendance over the last 30 years was a comfort to Rita and her family. Dan shall remain in our thoughts and prayers.
