I was privileged to have met Eva back in the late 1980s. My husband and I had not been married for a long time, but we had several children in a few short years and were looking for a new home to accommodate our now-large family. I don''t recall exactly how we met Eva, but it was through the purchase of our new home. I was so fortunate to have met her. She was very enthusiastic and happy. She told me that her background had been in mental health, but that since she had retired she only wanted to deal with happiness, and most people, she said, were very happy when they found a new home. We stayed in touch for many years, until she became ill, and, sadly, we then lost touch. Eva was a powerful influence in my life. She was always so happy and always looked for the good in people and situations. She dearly loved her son and was very proud of him. I am sorry that I never met any of Eva''s family, but I do hope that your happy memories of her grace, charm, intelligence, and life will be a comfort to you. My own mother died from dementia, and her death almost seemed surreal, as my real mother had been lost to that horrid disease many years before her weary body succumbed to its late stage. I hope that you will take some comfort in all of the good that she gave and received. I will never forget Eva nor her large heart and wise, sweet voice. She was truly a blessed angel in my life and the lives of my children.
