, Due to the rapid increase in the last week in Covid cases due to the Omicron variant, we have made the decision to only allow a maximum number of 25 people plus the clergy and staff at the gravesite.
Our priority is to protect the families who have suffered a loss, the community we serve, the clergy and cemetery staff we work with and of course our staff.

Gerald Alexander Ross ("Jerry") passed away at the age of 98 on January 24, 2020. Predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Helen Ross, parents, David and Chaika Ross, brother and sister- in-law Sam and Ida Ross, brothers Morris Ross and Oscar Ross, brother-in-law and sister- in-law Tzvi and Leah Trefler, sister-in-law Marion Goldblatt, brother-in-law Bernie Penner, and nephews Murray Ross and Jeffry Penner. Survived by his children, Martin (Nina), Alan and Bonnie, grandchildren Michael (Xochitl), Kelley (Jacquie), Hannah, Isabel, Zoe, Sasha, Daniel, Joshua and Jacob, great grandchildren Saskia, Jasper and Holden, sisters-in-law Bernice Ross, Honey Ross and Shirley Penner, brother-in-law Marvin Goldblatt, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and cherished next door neighbours and friends, John and Elia D'Alessandro and family. Jerry immigrated to Toronto from Poland at the age of 7. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943-46. He spent his career as a builder with D. Ross & Sons and devoted himself from an early age to hard work and providing for his family. He will be remembered for his generosity and love for his family, as well as the joy he received from music, including monthly performances by the Advocats Big Band, and watching sports with a keen interest in horse-racing. Special thanks to the dedicated staff at Carefree Lodge who provided him with safety and comfort during the pandemic. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society Ontario or Regent Park School of Music or to the charity of your choice.
