, Due to the rapid increase in the last week in Covid cases due to the Omicron variant, we have made the decision to only allow a maximum number of 25 people plus the clergy and staff at the gravesite.
Our priority is to protect the families who have suffered a loss, the community we serve, the clergy and cemetery staff we work with and of course our staff.

GLAIT, LOUIS R. - Passed away peacefully at home with Miriam by his side on July 12, 2020 in his 95th year. Lou leaves his loving wife, Miriam Rubin, his loving daughters, Susan Glait (Ron), Carrie Zarnett (Robert) and Julia Brandwin-Glait, and his grandchildren, Johanna, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Lauren. Also deeply missed by Miriam's children: the late Michelle Bender, Heidi (Yaakov), Sharry (Cheran), Adam (Kelly), Perri, and Emma (Noah) and grandchildren and great grandchild: Ben, Leah, Shira, Gedaliah, Daisy, Ellon and Anjani, Sam, Lily, Georgia, Ben, Eli, Delilah and Isaac. Lou lived a full life and was known for his wonderful sense of humour. He was an outstanding athlete and became the Head of Physical Education at his former high school, Harbord Collegiate Institute. His many accomplishments include being the first in his family to attend university, becoming the first Jewish high school Principal in the City of Toronto (Brockton), wrote a number of textbooks for the Board of Education, and co-founding Forest Valley Day Camp. Lou will be greatly missed by his family and many friends and colleagues. Special thanks to his caregiver Janet Little for her loving care and loyalty. Also would like to thank Nurse Next Door for their special attention to Lou. Due to COVID- 19, there will be a private graveside service and private Shiva.
