, Due to the rapid increase in the last week in Covid cases due to the Omicron variant, we have made the decision to only allow a maximum number of 25 people plus the clergy and staff at the gravesite.
Our priority is to protect the families who have suffered a loss, the community we serve, the clergy and cemetery staff we work with and of course our staff.

Baudot, Alain - On Tuesday, May 4th 2021 Beloved husband of Carla Miriam (Gringorten) Baudot of 53 years. Loving father of Laure and Erica Baudot and father-in-law of Leeor Sommer Brother of Patrick Baudot and Mireille Baudot (deceased). Grandfather to Rachel, Nathan, Simon.
Born February 7th, 1940 in Soissons, France, Alain arrived in Canada in 1966. He became a faculty member of Glendon College, where he founded and directed the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies for several years. A champion of French language and literature, he created courses in Francophone literature from all over the world (Western Africa, Antilles, Belgium, Lebanon, Switzerland, French Canada). In 1987, he founded ditions du GREF, publishing French essayists, novelists, and poets. He was a member of the Order of the Royal Society of Canada, an officer of the Crown of Belgium, and an officer of l'Ordre des Palmes acadmiques (France). A pianist and orchestra conductor, he instilled the love of music and books in his two daughters. He played piano duets with his children, and read to them nightly before bed. He also had a passion for good food, wine, and ravine walks. He shared with his family a joie- de-vivre, travelling and cruising to many countries with his wife, Carla. At the end of his life, he quoted the French poet Louis Aragon: "Je dirais apr tout que cette vie fut belle/In the end, I would say that it has been a beautiful life."
A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to New Visions Toronto, 416-868-1493, or Pancreatic Cancer Research, 416-961-7223, or to a charity of your choice.
